Dave Valentin is a jazz flutist. He learned latin percussion first when he was in the womb, and then switched to flute. Valentin's teacher, Hubert Laws, suggested that he not double on saxophone because of his attractive sound on the flute.

 

 

Throughout Williams' years with The Yankees, his passion for music never waned, and the sound of a guitar would often be heard emanating from the clubhouse or during team flights. Whether acoustic or electric, a guitar was a constant presence in the star's locker or equipment bag, and it was no surprise in 2003 when he demonstrated how serious his musical pursuit was with the release of his first album, The Journey Within. The record featured fusions of jazz, rock and the tropical rhythms of Williams' heritage and was met with both strong critical praise and instant chart success- reaching #3 on Billboard's "Contemporary Jazz Chart."

 

 

Bill is an internationally recognized composer, has his original compositions on CDs by Mongo Santamaria, Emily Remler, Charles Fambrough, and on virtually every recording made by flutist Dave Valentin. He has also written for television including a documentary about Latin Jazz legend, Tito Puente.
Over the years, Bill has displayed his versatility performing, writing and arranging for numerous other jazz artists including Gato Barbieri, The Fort Apache Band, and vocalists Jon Lucien, Kenny Rankin, and Astrud Gilberto. Bill was featured as a pianist and arranger on the recent CD (2010) by trombonist Conrad Herwig, "The Latin Side of Herbie Hancock".

  • Néstor Torres is a jazz flautist born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, in 1957. He took flute lessons at age 12 and began formal studies at the Escuela Libre de Música, eventually attending Puerto Rico's Inter-American University.

     

     

     

     

     

    Trombonist, composer and arranger Papo Vázquez is more than thirty-five years into a career spanning the jazz, Latin, Afro-Caribbean and classical music and recording worlds.

     

    Dave Samuels is an American vibraphone player, who has worked with various jazz and fusion artists, such as Spyro Gyra. Currently, he plays in an ensemble called The Caribbean Jazz Project, a Grammy-winning jazz-Latin music group

    Bobby Sanabria is a 7x Grammy nominated American drummer of Puerto Rican descent who is also a percussionist, composer, arranger producer, documentary film producer, educator and writer specializing in Latin jazz and Jazz

    2009 GRAMMY NOMINEE Percussionist Wilson "Chembo" Corniel was born in Manhattan on November 22, 1953 of proud Puerto Rican parents and raised in the humble streets of Red Hook, Brooklyn. It was during these years as a quick-witted youngster that he had the privilege and honor to study with such luminaries of the Afro-Caribbean percussion tradition as, Tommy Lopez Sr., "Little Ray" Romero, Louie Bauzo, and Cachete Maldonado.

    If you go to New York City and ask any Latin jazz legend about Edy Martínez they will tell you about him. Edy Martínez is a Colombian pianist, percussionist, composer, arranger and musical director who has been living and creating music in New York for over 50 years. You, as a reader or listener, could say that his name does not sound familiar, and you could be right because this artist has not appeared on the majority of the covers of the works he has participated in.
